A Wonderful Time Was Had By All!

We had an absolutely fabulous Thanksgiving with the Kendalls, the Simons and the Thompsons (Stephanie's mother and her husband) attending the festive occasion! I don't know who had more fun with Patrick's sisters and families - me or Patrick! It would be cool to have everyone here for a long weekend.

Allison and Marty arrived Wednesday afternoon. Paige, Dave, Alexis, and Spencer arrived to a dark house late Wednesday evening. Allison suggested we turn off all the lights before they got here so they could think they were at the wrong house or we were not here. Would Allison ever do anything like that?!?

Thursday we had a wonderful meal that was put together by Stephanie, Sara (Stephanie's mother), Allison, Paige, Dave, and Patrick. Allison decorated our tables and provided special favors - cornucopia made with waffle cones and filled with m & m's and dark chocolate turkeys. After dinner and visiting, we went to see a movies. Word of warning - Twilight is better than Four Christmases! Don't go see Four Christmases - PG-13 is NOT an appropriate rating!

On Friday, Dave and Marty hung my porch swing on the front porch. Thanks guys! Allison, Paige and Stephanie decorated the Christmas Tree. It is beautiful! Allison has a special touch at decorating. Maybe she will teach me a few things. Friday night we went to eat at the Station House at the Chattanooga Choo Choo. What a wonderful time we had! After dinner, the guys came back to our house. The gals went downtown Chattanooga to see decorated windows at the Electric Power Board and then went to Starbucks to have Signature Hot Chocolate. Yum yum!

On Saturday, Allison and Marty headed back home. We took the Kendall family sight seeing in Chattanooga. The weather was not very cooperative. Then that evening we went to eat pizza. Spencer and Alexis were happy with that choice!

Sunday, we said our goodbyes to Paige and family (boo hoo!!!).

We are so glad that you guys all came to visit! We hope it will not be your last. I think Patrick has had 'sister withdrawals' this week! We miss you!

Now it is on to Christmas preparations!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving Feasting
When the Halloween pumpkins are gone,And the leaves have all fallen to ground,When the air has turned windy and cold,Then Thanksgiving will soon be around.
Thoughts of loved ones all feasting together,Pleasant pictures from past times appearTo dwell in each heart and each mind--Then Thanksgiving is finally here!
The kitchen has scrumptious aromas,The dining room looks oh, so fine,Decorations with pilgrims and turkeys,And now we are ready to dine!
First the napkins are placed on our laps; Now the prayer for the meal to be blessed,Then we stuff the good food in our tummies,And we hope for it all to digest!

A mini-vacation in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee

A couple of weeks ago we took a vacation in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. We stayed in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. We enjoyed great weather, taking picture of the beautiful fall colors and a little early snow, and spending time relaxing.

We went to the Dixie Stampede Christmas Show. This is a family show owned by Dolly Parton. You are served dinner - without silverware. You eat all of it with your hands - Soup that you can either sip or dip your bread in it, chicken, potato, pork chop, corn on the cob, and an apple pastry. The show is lots of singing and entertainment. And most of the performance is on horses.

We also went into Gatlinburg and started our Christmas shopping. The next day we took a horse ride - It was only an hour ride. But this was Stephanie's first time on a horse ride. Patrick thought we should have gone for a longer ride. But one hour was enough for the first timer! Stephanie would love to go ride again, though!

The cabin had a pool table. When we were not catching up on sleep or watching movies, we played pool. Patrick kicked Stephanie's tail good playing pool! Oh well, it was about the fun!

Our last night there, one of our neighbors and his wife were in Pigeon Forge for the weekend. They came to our cabin. We grilled steaks, watched a movie and sat in the hot tub. A great time was had by all!

Patrick and I would love to have a Sigman family reunion. The resort has all sizes of cabins. And Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg have plenty of things to do. Check it out on the internet and let us know what you think!

Happy Anniversary!

Wow! It has been two years since Patrick and I were married. Time flies! We went out for dinner tonight to The Station House at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel. It is a cool restaurant! The waiters sing and entertain when they are not serving tables. I called and made reservations and told them that we were celebrating our anniversary. Our server sang a song just for us at our table.

And, Patrick brought me some beautiful flowers! We had a lovely evening just relaxing.

Here are a few pictures from our wedding! We could not have had a better fall day than what we had! It was a great time. (Note - I apologize if the pictures are small. I am not sure how to make them larger within the post. I need some training on blogger!!!)

Almost done!

Time is drawing near! We are almost finished with our house and hope to close on it August 22nd! We are BOTH very excited! Patrick has been a busy beaver keeping all the contractors in line; answering questions; picking out colors, lights, etc.; watering the sod; planting shrubs and plants; cleaning the house; cleaning up after the contractors; and many more things! While we are excited, we are EXHAUSTED!

I will be writing some letters to all the sisters to give everyone our new address and phone numbers. Please share with the rest of the family.

We are on the activities committee at church and already planning an activity for September 20th. BTW - It is very exciting to be part of the LDS church! Everyone has been so nice.

We will keep you posted on all the fun things that are happening and I promise to post some house pictures on here. Come visit us in Tennessee!
